Hi Folks! I am Lily.
I think you may be wondering with the title. Some may even think it is weird. But this is what happened to me last week…
It was an early morning in the Rainy season.
I woke up from my bed at 6.00 a.m. to take coffee which could give some wetness to my dry lips. While I was making coffee, I could hear some chirping sounds of birds into my ears. I went to the backyard of my home. With the neatly processed lawn and with some shrubs and plants, the garden looked amazing at that time. I took my coffee cup in my both hands to make me warm from the chilly weather.
The climate was splendid. The mountains were covered with mists and the drizzling rain made the birds to dwell in their nests. The leaves were in pitch green color due to the rain. The road was spotless and no human was found there except a man who was holding a Pink Umbrella. The man was sitting on a bench which was kept at a tea shop located in the corner of my Street with a Pink Umbrella. He was holding a cup of tea in one hand and the other hand was holding the Umbrella. As the teashop was rather far from my home, I couldn’t see his face clearly, but the Pink color of the Umbrella was vibrant. I slowly started walking towards the Street to enjoy the drizzling rain once my taste buds finished the coffee in the cup. The droplets of the rain were flawless and the hymn of the birds has also added some more beauty to the situation.
Suddenly, the man with the pink Umbrella started his gait from the teashop towards me. Now, gently I could see his face gradually. He was a Large Man with thick eyebrows and a beard on his face. With the wrinkled skin and the swollen eyes, I thought that his age might be 70 (approx.) I was trying to figure out his face as it seemed familiar to me. The man stopped his walk once he reached near to me. He stood peering amicably at me for more than 3 minutes. Then, I ran from the backyard to my home.
I searched for the photo which was taken when I was 10 years old. I felt surprised. Yeah! It was he, the same Large Man with thick eyebrows. I took the album and ran faster to the backyard. But he was not there. He walked so far from my home with that Pink Umbrella. The rain stopped. But unknowingly, a drop of tears from my eyes wet the album’s front cover. “And then a Large Man Holding a Pink Umbrella stood peering amicably at me was my Grand Father”. He was dead when I was 10. It has been ten years. But I couldn’t forget him and his memories. He was my childhood friend who used to tell many tales for me, who used to buy toys and gifts, who never felt tired while holding me in his arms. I felt blessed in that morning. And it was my 20th birthday. My Grandfather came there to bless me with his innocent smile. It means a lot to me.
In everyone’s life, there comes a person whom they can’t forget whatever the path of life is!
And for me, it was my Grand Father, the Large Man with the Pink Umbrella!

The laughing sound in my room was so loud that it was creating an echo towards our yawn. It was my little sister Sherly who was making fun of me by making faces and imitating me. Sherly is everything for me. I hold my life with two things like two sides of the coin, One was my Sherly and other one was my job.
The Next day…
“Miss Laflare, we have given you this case since you are one of the best officers in this squad but your progress in this case was very slow, we have to find some clues for this mysterious case”, My senior officer with French beard urged me. Yes, I’m an officer in Intelligence squad solving the case of a mysterious murder of an 70 year old man. I have solved most of the mysterious cases but this case was very confusing and complicated.
On 17th July morning, approximately at 9 a.m., A man fell from 17th floor of his own apartment. He was perfectly dressed with an overcoat. So, he is ready for his office. His murder was unplanned. It may be an accident or suicide…. But as the floor was too high he couldn’t die himself accidently. So there is more chance for murder. I’m very much confused of the case.
“Miss detective your coffee is ready! It was nothing but surely with a cup of hot coffee. How is your mysterious case miss?” Sherly asked teasingly. “Confusing and different!” I replied. “Okay! let it be”, she said by drawing imaginary patterns in my hand. I finished off the coffee and looked for Sherly. She was not there. I stepped to her room. She was slept. Her room was full of books. She is doing her Ph.D. in Psychology. I lit off the lamp and looked her. She was very beautiful in her sleep. I smoothly patted her head.
I could remember everything about her. It was like yesterday! I was 18 at the time. I was doing my higher studies at my orphanage. One night when it was raining heavily I didn’t get any bus or share cab to reach the hostel and no one was there to pick me up. At that time in the heavy rain, I saw a little girl far away across the road. I ran toward her. She was shivering. Her hair was clearly messed. She was looking me deeply. Her eyes were full of fear and her tooth was broken. Her dress was full of blood spots. I booked a cab and wrapped her with the shawl I used to wore. I took her to my hostel. I asked who’s she? Where did she come from? Their parents? Nearly 100s of questions in that midnight. She didn’t answer and fell upon the floor of the hostel like a thing without life. I took her to the hospital. The doctor analysed her and gave her some glucose supplies. The doctor asked the details to me. I revealed everything happened. She needed rest and I slept on the bed nearby. The same cute sleep!!! Which she is giving now…
On the next day, I heard that she was absolutely alright and the doctor called the Psychiatrist. They asked me to wait outside. It took an hour. The doctor came and told, “She met with some terrible accident which I’m not sure about it, but the child can’t remember everything. If we continue asking about any past, it will affect her brain too…”
From the next day to still now, I didn’t even ask a single question to her. She is my Sherly. God’s gift to me… I will make her happy to the end… (While thinking of the old memories, she forgot about time. Soon she realised the real world and started to concentrate in her case.)
Ring… Ring… Ring… Ohh my phone! OMG!! I slept as such it was my officer who was calling me for past 5 minutes. I attended the phone call. The things he told just shook me from the bed to conscious. An another death! It was a person who was dead before 5 hours in the darkroom due to heart attack. What is happening around here? I’m confused a lot more. My instinct is always telling me there is some relation between these two cases!
On the next morning, I was in that room where the men was accused. I asked nearby people, there was no strong proof. But there is no power cut at that time. Some one has fused his circuit alone! Something fishy happened there. I looked at the photo of the man. That was taken recently I guess so. OMG I had seen him already! I had seen him somewhere when I was with Sherly. Suddenly I started the car and reached the home. Sherly was preparing for her exams. “Sherly ! I need a minute”, I said “Okay, but after my studies” she replied teasingly. I suddenly reached her and showed the photo and asked, “Have we seen him already?” Sherly thought for few minutes and replied that we have seen him in the TV show. He was a famous Guitarist. Now, I could recollect everything. Yes he was the one who spoke about many notes and how the music was… And he said that he was afraid of dark. For that he told the technical term Nyctophobia. I started collecting details about him. I too enquired his room . The room was dark and things were here and there. The sofa in the room was Upside down and TV remote was in the floor. I can visualize what happened here. He got afraid of something in the TV and he might fall down from the sofa after that he tried to open the door but it was locked from out. It was just a blind guess. Whatever, I’m confident in one thing. Both of them were afraid and scientifically stuck in Phobia in their last minute of death.
A week pass by and I went to forensic analyst to collect some reports. My phone rang and I got a sudden instinct that something was not fine. In this time, it was two murders. One was dipped in the sea and other one I may not guess so it was an accident. It was easy to detect that they were afraid of fire and sea. So it’s definitely a murder. I went to the spot which was near the port. Actually the man in the sea was missing for a month. According to me he was dead first. His body was completely unidentified. I finished the formalities and his houseowner detected it was his tenant using his tattoo of skeleton on his shoulder. And the other murder was happened today at 9 a.m. The man was driving his car at a high speed, he was alcoholic and so he lost his control and smashed the car on a tree.
I don’t know whether the fifth is planned or unplanned. I thought that I might fail in my job. Higher officials were started to give me pressure to finish the case. I went to home with broken heart. My little girl Sherly came, “What happened? She asked with her wide eyes opened.”“Nothing dear! I think I’m gonna fail in my job. I need privacy”, I replied and locked the door and sat in my bed. Suddenly I slept within minutes.
When I woke up, it was very dark. I looked my phone it was 1 a.m. OMG I scolded Sherly. She would be upset. I walked slowly because I felt like I lacked all my energy. I reached her room. There were nobody in the room. The room was very clean. My girl has grown up. I called her. Her mobile was ringing in the bedside. Suddenly I spotted the diary which was in her room. I opened the 1st page! Oh! my instinct again. These are her words “Hi, My lovable sissy! Welcome to my room. Go forward. Answers are here for your questions.”
I started to turn the pages one by one. I shocked when I see the pictures of four man who were killed. The fifth one was an accident not involved to the case.
Her words are, “Sissy! On that day you wrapped a little girl in a white blanket to the home. But on that day the world’s most cruel animals haunted her mother like a beast. She remembered every inch of it. Yes, Sister my mom was so beautiful like you. But she was afraid of men because a man had cheated her and gave her a baby and threw her out with some money. I didn’t mean all those men in the world. But those cruel people opposite to our place raped my mom and killed her. When I came to hit those people they have thrown me away like a trash. My tooth was broken. And my mom too died. With the same widened eyes I by-hearted all those faces. I walked out. You saw me and all happened. But how can I leave them. I studied Psychology and side-by I collected details about them . I showed the life of death and cruelty at the last minute of their death. I attacked them with their weakness. They fell down like broken trees in the storm. I thought their screaming at the last moment can console my mom’s screaming which was haunting my ears daily. My Sissy! I love you the most and I have attached all the evidences and the place now I was in at the last page. I’m not afraid of punishments. So handover this diary to the police and do your duty. Have a happy life and marry your loved one. And the thing I wanna say is, ‘I saw my mom in you’, surely these diary contains all evidences and lots of my tears…”, my Sherly’s words ended.
“Mine too”, I said to myself while wiping my tears with my hankie.
I took my car and went to the station. After an hour, I came out with a letter in my hand. Yes, I resigned my job. You people may ask, “Why?” Why Because I’m a woman who loves both my Job and my Sherly, but somehow I loved Sherly more… She gave punishments to four brutal animals. I resigned my job because I can’t be in that job anymore because somehow I’m hiding the truth.
In the night, I went to ride on boat towards deep sea which she often took me at nights. I looked the sea for five minutes. This time my wish was to make her forget everything including me and to lead a new life. I then threw that diary into the sea. I don’t wanna search for where she was. But one thing is sure She should be safe. Yes! She will be. The night, the sea and my mind, everything is in peace now!
” In life, there would be some bitter truth behind every pain and every failure. This truth once revealed may either solve the problem or may cause some other problem too. Here, the truth revealed caused me and my Sherly not to meet anymore. And I have resigned my job too. Some bitter incidents might kill you for life time. You may decide to reveal that to someone so close to your heart oneday, but who knows even that will make you to move apart. Yes! if that case was not solved by me and I didn’t see the diary, atleast I could be with my Sherly. But things once happened cannot get back and words once given cannot be forgotten. So, think before you speak or act because there is no UNDO in life. It is a one time opportunity.”

The mountains were covered with mists and the terrace of every home in that village was as chill as ice cubes. Birds woke up and started to sing their Hymn. (Crows craw… craw…, Cuckoos cuckoo.. cuckoo..) The trees were so green and leaves were left with some water droplets as there was a rain the previous day. The roads were spotless and the streets were serene except the sounds of birds and animals. No human was found in the street as it was so chill.
On a corner of the main street, there was a tea shop opened. As per Indian regulations, men only seem to be sitting in the tea shop either to taste the tea or to read the newspapers. So, there was no woman there. Some people who were ready to go for work, were waiting for the bus in the bus stop. Sita came to normal from her travelling dreamy mood to the real world. “Yes! It was my stop!” she told the conductor. Sita was a girl aged 25 working in a Public sector for two years. She was not so fair not so dark (A medium Indian color girl) with her white Churidhar consisted of golden borders. Her hair was pitch black color which was exactly contrast to the color of her churidhar. It was tied with a single dark green color Clip. With a spot-sized black bindi upon which a pinch size kum-kum laid on her forehead, she looked gorgeous. Her eyebrows were broad and thick as it was no need to draw any eyebrow pencils. Her eyes which were rotating 360 degree to search, it could even tell a poem. She added extra beauty to her eyes with a thin eyeliner which can make her confidence level to stay strong in the society as it can make her eyes sharper than before, which could help her to avoid herself from some bad people, because with those beautiful and sharp eyes, she looked like a woman who can fire them without any other weapon. For your kind information, this is the reason why most of the independent girls choose eye liner when they go to any public places. In the hand, two to three silver bangles and a Fastrack watch were placed, her long and beautiful nails were polished with a mild orange color nail polish. She took her cream colored bag and a trolley which was dark grey in color and stepped out from the bus within a minute. When her feet (not her feet exactly, only her sandals) touched the road, She felt something which insisted her that it was a place which was so familiar to her or it was the village where she supposed to live. With that affirmative thought, she took her luggage and went to the tea shop. The climate was so chill and she was in need of something warm to make herself and her metabolism to be active. She preferred tea and it just went inside her taste buds within a minute. But the taste and the wetness of the tea reminded in her tongue and lips for at least half an hour in her mouth. She felt little bit active then to take her luggage faster. While entering into the street, she could see long coconut trees and some shrubs and plants in front of every home in the village. Some birds were singing and some cats and dogs were roaming in the street. From every home, ladies came out with some water in the bucket and cleaned their front porch of the house. Some of the ladies were busy with their kolam designs to complete as quick as possible. Sita took her mobile phone to capture these admirable things happening there. As her mobile phone had 20 MP camera, it captured the picture vibrant and brighter.
A street in the village – Morning Scenario
A lady aged approximately 50 watched Sita like she had never seen her before. “Who are you? Is there any relatives of you staying in this village? For what purpose have you come here?” She added many questions. Sita quietly started replying one by one. “Maa… I am Sita working as a government employee in the nearby town. I have no relatives in this village yet. I came to stay here for some days regarding my work”, she said. Her answer was half right and half wrong. Yes! She was a government employee, who came to the village to stay for some days not regarding her job, but to attend a marriage. She didn’t say anything regarding that to the lady because she didn’t want to explain her issues to a stranger.
Sita took her baggage and continued her walk. While walking, some memories of her best friend came into her mind. Tears started rolling down from her eyes without even asking permission from her. She wiped those with the hankie and at last found the home, for which she already paid rent, near Lord Krishna’s Temple.
It was a small house but traditional with some flowerpots and hanging baskets. While entering into the hall, she could hear the chirping sound of Sparrows from one corner of the house. There was a nest upon a shelf in the wall, where a Sparrow’s family was living. Once Sita switched on the light, the sparrows started to fly from there and reached their nest only in the evening. From that day, Sita wouldn’t switch on the lights of that lobby. She could remember her best friend whenever she saw that nest. It was because once her friend shared that he had experienced the same thing in his house.
Sita unpacked all her things in the trolley and made the house looked like a place where anyone can get the peace and bliss. As we all know, villages always have neighbors with friendly approach when compared to urban areas, Sita too had a neighbor. Her neighbor’s family was a nuclear family which consists four members. A father, a mother and their son & daughter who were children with the age of 10 and 12. “Hi! Is there anyone in the home?” a sound came from the door side. “Yes! I’m here.” Sita moved to the door and replied. “You are Sita. Right? I am Rupa and I’m your neighbor. Your house owner told me that you are an independent girl working for the government and gonna stay here for some days. If you need any help, you can call me at any time”, told Rupa. Rupa is the same neighbor which I already mentioned. She was a house wife aged 35 approximately. As Sita was new to that village, Rupa used to help Sita in all aspects from that day. They became friends in a short span as Friendship is beyond the boundaries of age.
One fine Saturday evening, they both went for a walk to the Temple nearby. On the way, fortunately, Sita came to see the house of her best friend. She searched for the photo of that house sent by her best friend in her mobile gallery. Yes! It was there. Her brain confirmed that it was the same house. But she reacted like she didn’t know anything about the house and asked Rupa, “Whose house is this? And why it seems decorative? Is there any function gonna happen here?” Rupa stated, “This was the house of a joint family living within the same compound but separate houses. Next week, there will be a marriage of their son, whose marriage is the last marriage of that generation. So, it seems so decorative.” On hearing this, Sita felt utmost happiness. So, she smiled a little without showing her teeth. Rupa asked, “What are you thinking? And why are smiling now without any reason?” Sita told, “Nothing!” and started her walk. They reached the temple and while returning to home, Rupa’s husband came there and asked his wife to pick up their children from school as he had some other work. Rupa nodded her head and moved from there to the school. Sita bid a Bye sign to Rupa and continued her gait.
While she was near to reach her home, she could able to see a Bike which was familiar to her and she could recognize the number plate too. Then she moved her eyes up and it was her friend. Her happiness couldn’t be explained in words. She felt like she has achieved a long time goal. Her face with full of excitements and confusions, she waved her hand and opened her mouth, “Ram! Ram!”her voice shouted. But there happened an incident, something which she never expected. Ram didn’t even bid a reply instead he nodded his head and moved from there. Sita felt like her soul was taken by God for seconds. Yup! She felt the utmost happiness when she saw him but within seconds she had to face the utmost pain she ever had in her life. She felt like she had died already. While walking on the road, that ignoring moment by Ram came to her eyes many times. She didn’t even respond to anybody in the road and moved like a Robot with no feelings with the same shock which she couldn’t tolerate for hours.
After reaching the home, she went to the bed and wet her pillow as every girl does when they feel any agony. But she also tried to recollect the other things which happened in the road that time. She murmured to herself, “Yes! It is his relative. May be that is the reason!” She consoled herself by thinking that Ram avoided her only because of his relative who was there.
It was Sunday evening… The sun is about to set. The Sparrows reached the nest of her house. Sita came to the terrace of her house and watered some plants placed there. While pouring water, she felt some emptiness in her mind because it was going to be the last night for her in that village. Then, her mind accepted the reality and she went to prepare food for her dinner. She prepared some noodles which could fill her stomach a little but could make her tongue feel the spicy chilly taste for hours. Sita was a very good cook. She could prepare every food tastier and somewhat different from other’s cooking methodologies. Even the noodles tasted like a delicious dinner. With that taste left in her tongue, she moved to the bed and set an alarm for 4 O’ clock. Within minutes, she felt asleep.
“Ring, Ring! Ring, Ring!”, the alarm sounded. Sita couldn’t hear it. After 10 minutes, she woke up and her eyes didn’t come back from the drowsiness. She again had a nap for 10 minutes. It was 5 a.m.. Sita with her elegant Pink Lehenga looked like a Princess. She had taken oil bath and her hair was so smooth and silky as it could grab every one’s attention. She didn’t apply any creams or any other cosmetics in her face except the eyeliner and a dot sized black Bindi. She tied her hair with a black hair clip and fitted her feet into a pair of golden-colored sandals. She was simple but elegant with her attire. “Sita! Where are you?”, Rupa sounded. “I’m here and I have to go to a marriage today”, Sita replied. On hearing this, Rupa got surprised and told that she is also getting ready for a marriage and she added, “It was the marriage of that Joint family’s son which I already told you.” Sita smiled a little and bid a bye to Rupa.
It was 7.00 a.m. Sita was entering the marriage hall. It was the same marriage which was told by Rupa. The banner was with the words “Ram weds Meera”. Sita felt a pleasant joy, no excitements, no griefs, but with peace and complete happiness. When entered the hall, everyone saw her with a suspect look, because Sita was not invited by anyone there. Bride’s family thought that she was groom’s relation. In the similar way, Bride groom’s family thought that she was bride’s relation or friend. Sita entered near the stage. She could see Ram’s mother and father. They were very happy because it was their son’s marriage. On seeing their faces, Sita felt like she has achieved something she wanted to happen for years. Within minutes, the bride and the groom were called by the typical Tamil Prohidhar (In foreign culture, there won’t be Prohidhars but instead you may have fathers in the church) as it was the time to tie the knot. The bride was really elegant with her maroon colored silk saree and with all the jewels and accessories, she looked beautiful. The bride groom was with white silk shirt and dhoti. He was so handsome with this attire. Ram and Meera came to the stage and they started delivering the Mantras told by Prohidhar. The camera man started shooting photos and videos. As Ram was fond of photography, he wanted his marriage photos to be candid with good frame. So, he decided to prepare for that and asked Meera to give pose accordingly. While seeing the people who came to the marriage, Ram’s eyes found Sita. He felt surprised and confused on seeing her. But Sita didn’t even respond. She just sat in the chair placed in the front row with a smiling face. Within minutes, Ram had many confusions because he didn’t even invited her for his marriage. He thought that she might be Meera’s friend too but he didn’t ask her because he had some hesitation to ask about Sita.
Within minutes, the marriage was over. Everyone in the marriage felt happy and Sita blessed them whole heartedly. Once the marriage was over, every friends and relatives moved to the stage and blessed the wedding couples with gifts and accessories. After sometime, Sita entered the stage with a Jewel box in her hand. “Congratulations! Happy Married Life, Ram! You both look amazing and made for each other. Meera! You are such a blessed one to have Ram. I’m his Best friend Sita”, Sita wished them from her heart and also introduced herself to Meera. She opened the jewel box which had couples Diamond Rings. She asked Ram to make it wear to Meera’s finger and Meera to do the same to Ram. And she took a photo shoot with the couples and within minutes she moved from the marriage hall. Ram was shocked and felt very happy by the things happened. He didn’t even felt this much joy while he tied knot to Meera, but now he felt complete happiness. His eyes were filled with tears and his heart were filled with the memories of his friend now. At last, He understood Sita and her pure affection towards him. He rotated his eyes all over the hall but he couldn’t find her. Meera asked Ram, “What happened? You haven’t told about Sita to me. But she was very nice. I think she was really a good friend of yours!” Ram told, “Nothing! She was my best friend once.” But he said to himself, “No, Sita! Really, you are my best friend forever. Really feeling happy and deserved for having you in my life. Such a beautiful soul you are. You have proved it now!”
Ram is a person who is fond of photography and also a sportsman. He lives his life by enjoying every moment. He respects women and their feelings as such even in this cruel society. A good soul who likes his family a lot. Simply, he was a very good friend of Sita. Yes! Sita was Ram’s Best friend before two years. They both shared everything about them. There were no secrets between them. They used to have a relationship like Tom and Jerry, Angry birds. But they both had too much affection and care, they didn’t expose their affection by words. There was real caring by actions. Their characters were matched. Their friendship was perfect. Months passed… One day, Ram felt like he never wanted to lose his best friend. So, he told her, “ I never want to lose you in my life. We both are very good friends. And we knew each other a lot. I like your character too”. Sita too felt the same once Ram told everything. They want to marry each other because they never want to lose their best friends. But as we all know our culture won’t accept any individual man or woman to take their decisions on their own even if it is right. So, they both decided that it might not happen one day. So, they just wanted to hold their relationships as friends because they knew that their parents won’t allow their desires and so they never wanted to hurt them. Their matured and altruistic thoughts made them to hold their relationship as friends only. So, they continued their relationship as the same best friends. But one day, Ram became ill and Sita felt like something bad is going to happen. Her instincts and the dreams she had, constantly told her the same. So, she got scared and continuously tried to contact him. But there was no reply from him because he was ill as she thought. At that moment only, Sita came to understand that she had immense affection and care towards him. Her instincts, fear and anxiety made her to react emotionally & this caused many problems in their friendship. Everything is because of her fear about what happened to Ram. But she was strong in their desires because she never wanted to lose her best friend for her relationship. She wanted her best friend back not the relationship. But unfortunately, whenever they both tried to save their friendship, things went wrong and at last their contacts were lost one day. From that day, Sita decided that her friend should be happy with peace and his dignity should be maintained. Yes! She didn’t talk to him, they broke up but this was not a Break up between lovers, this was the BREAK UP BETWEEN BEST FRIENDS. Yes! Their friendship was pure and the affection she had towards him was unconditional. So, she always wanted to know whether he was happy or not, but at the same time she didn’t want to disturb him. Hence, she maintained the silence forever. One day, when Sita was working in her office, she came to know that his friend Ram’s marriage was going to happen in the month of April through a call from her friend who was Ram’s friend too. On hearing this, Sita felt utmost happiness. She wanted to see him happy and she decided that he should not have any guilt or any worries while facing her on any occasions. That was the only reason she went to his marriage. Everything is because her affection, love and care is as pure as Milk. It can’t be tested. Her affection is not just love or commitment where we want the other person to be ours. It is something beyond the boundaries which can’t be understand by ordinary humans. Even her best friend Ram didn’t understand her till when he saw her in his marriage. It is the greatest relationship in her life and for her, he is the greatest friend whom she always wanted to be happy. Their relationship is more than best friends but not expecting anything as return.
Sita came to her house from the marriage and packed all her luggage to vacate the house. She stayed there for one week. Within a week, she collected many memories in that village and a new friend Rupa too. But she decided to leave, because she came there only to attend Ram’s marriage. Now its time to move. She watched the Sparrow’s nest for minutes and said Goodbye to them. But those Sparrows didn’t know that she will not come back. She closed the door of her house and asked Rupa to give the keys to the house owner. At last, She bid a Good Bye to Rupa and to the village with tears in her eyes. But she felt the completeness while leaving from there. With that completeness, she entered into the car which was waiting for her in the bus stop and within seconds, the car moved from that village but a part of Sita’s soul and her memories wander there in the village forever. According to Sita, those memories she had with Ram were enough for her life time.
While travelling, Sita told herself,“Ram! Yes, I wanted to marry you, once we both felt like we can be the best pair. But that is only because I never wanted to lose you my best friend & I wanted to be in your life to share all your happiness & sadness together and to make you happy forever. But once I understood, I am not your happiness, instead I am becoming your problem, I just don’t want to make you feel worry anymore. I want you to live peacefully. And now, it happened. Thank you God! Today am so happy because my bestiee is getting married and his family is also happy.”
“You people may think that the story is not practical.
Yes! It may not be practical for the society we are living now. Because our so-called society always hold many prejudices like religion, culture, caste and yet another main thing is the surroundings. We often won’t think about our decisions and goals, instead we have a lot of perplexities like “What others will think if it happens? What people will say if it happens? What people will speak if it happens?” and the questions goes on…But just think once before you confuse yourself. It was your life. You decide how your life should be. But for taking any decision, you should be deserved. Career is very important for a person to make their decisions by themselves. Either you make friends, love, marry, or being single forever. Everything is in your hands. But mind one thing, your desires should not affect your parents by any means, instead try to make them understand. They are your parents if you can’t make them understand, then how can you make some other (who may be your friend or lover) who cares you to understand.
Sita, a woman who was strong in her desires now got promoted as a Manager and her pure affection and care made her friend to be happy forever too. She wanted to be an empowered woman and she didn’t believe in any relationships which hurt others. She wanted to have a calm and happy life with no compromises or any alternatives. Because if you choose compromises, you will always have to compromise yourself for everything in life. She didn’t think of the society and their criticisms, she just focused in her goals. Because society often curse the people who are living and praise the people who are died. Both the case are useless. Sita proved that she was an empowered woman.”
“But for the society, being single is not a problem but a woman being single is the problem. If you are strong in your desires, just strive for it. Anyone may confuse you or anyone may give free advice to you. But just think once before you think about the society, Are these people cared much about your life more than you? Are they going to live your life? Are they gonna be there forever with you? Are they going to die for your disease? No. Not at all! Everyone in this world is single, sometimes even our shadow left us alone. Then, how people stay forever? So, spread your love, care and affection at the most to anyone you meet but don’t expect anything as return because it is caring not dealing. Be happy with the serenity in life and don’t get over emotion for anything. We are not deserved to fail for emotions, we are deserved to achieve bigger.
Let our life be gratified with peace and desires, but not with compromises or people!”

The summer was more hot as it was in the process of making people tired. The people were moving like a turtle along the big giant road. Everyone who was living here are victims for a reason. Some are victims of love, some are of people, some are victims of food. Some being poor, victims of money, victims all over the world… And even the world is the Victim of people(the most cruel disease which destroying world each and every day)
Okay! There is no time for you guys to hear about all those victims in your busy life race. So, we are gonna see about one of the most important victims in the world.
In the business of giving extreme hotness to people, Sun continued it’s daily job. A girl with a formal dress (not so neat) but elegant, sharp eyes, pointed nose with a pony and some luggage tried to cross a big road (Which had no idea of giving an end to its travel). Her name was Tira. She was searching for a house or a share basis room or even some home like setup to escape from the cold winter breeze at time at very low cost.
She finally found one, not a house, a room like set up, she bargained and leased it for one year. She opened the door. It took nearly 2 and a half an hour to make it act like a room. She found a bed at the center of room (she assumed it as a bed because it had 4 legs). Tira arranged it with all she had and slept off. The Sun at last finished its duty for the day and called out Moon to take care of the rest.
Finally the morning chillness wake her up. Her mouth asked for a coffee to wet itself. She took a bath and went out for a coffee. She found a shop nearby and paid for a coffee and took a sip and paid another penny to buy a newspaper. Being a girl in the society, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper at 7.00a.m. at roadside shop will make people around you to watch you or at least scan you for two minutes amidst their busy schedule. She finished off the bottom sip. Even the glass got confused whether it had coffee in it before few minutes or not. It’s all THIRST.
She moved to the room and avoided herself from some bad eyes and started searching for vacancies in the newspaper. There were many marketing BPO Telecaller and some sales girl Jobs etc. Tira read upon those articles one-by-one and marked some jobs. At last, she searched and attended an interview in a marketing company. They selected her and gave her a sales girl role of a particular product. Her job was to promote the product.
She accepted the job spelled out by the management and signed the contract for one and a half year and bought some initial pay for her makeover, which was provided by the company. As we all know, Being a female in this so called independent society is really a tough job. Soon as Tira’s job and talent of selling product was good, some customers gave their mobile numbers for their personal deeds. But being a confident women she tackled everything fairly well.
One fine day, A man with a white overcoat and perfectly done hair aged nearly 25 or may be 27 came to the company. The visit was based on the agreement progress for promoting some of the products of his so called company. They arranged a special room for their meeting. The manager who was busy in the arrangement moved here and there. Tira who was busy in her usual office works didn’t aware of much of the things going on. Suddenly, the manager moved towards Tira.
The Manager called Tira by her name. Tira was surprised and moved to him. He asked Tira, ” The woman who was a marketing manager was planned to talk with that promoter company. Unexpectedly she was unable to attend the meeting. So, I request you to attend this meeting and give a speech about the product.” Tira was happy to hear this but at the same time, she was in a confusion because there are many new professionals, even seniors were there but why was she?
But the manager told that he had confidence in her. And he added that she could do it and another important issue was they have already given the profile of marketing manager whose name was the same “Tira Alfred”. So there were no such issues in future. He gave her few documents and asked her to go through it. Within 5 minutes time the meeting was held and Tira’s performance was up to the core. The company signed the assignment.
“Marketing is an art!” Tira in that assignment proved that she was an excellent artist. After her tremendous performance, she was given a position of marketing manager. But it didn’t brought much happiness in her life. People started gossiping behind and even before her. Some said “Her beauty made it” and some other people said “It’s not because of her talent.. The young man (who was with a white coat) fell for her.” Some laughed. Some people asked directly, “what did you offer to get this job?” At first she pretended to be casual. After sometime, she acted like she became deaf and dumb to such criticisms. But One day, Tira just stunned in depression when she was called “Slut “ by a group of people surrounding her. The main thing to notice here is Most of those were females. Tira went to home. She was so depressed, feeling mad. She took more than 1 and a half sleeping pill to get some sleep. The most saddest part of the situation was she had nobody to share what she felt right now. The only way for a lonely girl who was criticised by hundreds of unknown faces is to wet her pillow… Or to try some suicidal attempt in depression.
Suddenly her door bell rang. She opened the door. Nobody was there. But she felt something thick under her foot. It was an old brown diary which was torn and lost its colour in some places. She took it and looked around the street. There was nobody in the road. She took that diary and came in. She kept it on the table and moved in to drink some water. She looked on the calender. She was shocked.. It was her 26th birthday. She usually didn’t celebrate her birthdays. It was used only for the purpose of counting her age. She moved to the hall. She looked on the diary for sometime. It was unscrupulous to read other’s diaries. But to know the name of the person who wrote she had to read.
She took it in her warm hands. And turned the old browny pages with her index finger. She was surprised. It was a young lady in black and white picture. She was similar to the face which Tira has seen many times. She moved to the mirror. It was nearly similar to her face, Big eyes, Perfectly made lips, Pointed nose. Something in her inner voice told, “It was her mother”. Suddenly a drop of tears rolled towards her chin and tried to wet the picture.
With the same eagerness and some unknown love. She opened the next page. These are the words written in that diary,
” To My dear Baby girl :
This is a letter from your unknown Mother. I don’t even know your name. But when you are in my womb I used to call you as “Briana” which means brave girl. I gave you this name since it played a major role in your mother’s life. I was brought up in a good family like others enjoying their childhood. When I was in college, I fell in love with your father and got married to him. Everything went smooth. I became a successful women as a managing director in a well developed company. But suddenly everything just vanished. Your father met with a car accident and touched God’s feet. But the case was investigated and Police doubted that it was a planned murder. I broke off. For me, the world became dark. but I was confident that I could at least do my job, but people surrounding me suspected me as a murderer. Many talk bad about me. Someone told that, I had an another relationship, I’m in love with someone else, etc. They started narrating stories in my life. I went on severe depression. I drunk… I Smoke… I took pills… But one day… I got the most wonderful news… I was pregnant. From that day, I stopped everything. I started to live for you. You were my world. You were my future. You were my everything. But people around us spoke bad about you too. But I was not hearing them. I was confident then, Because my child you are here now. But after your birth God didn’t want me to stay long days with you. Suddenly, I got ill by a disease… My dear I wanna make this to reach you at your birthday. Most importantly your 26th birthday. This is the age I was holding you in my arms and fought for life.
Dear, I know your state now. Every woman in this world will become a victim at times. People will gossip! They will make you depress, they will try to suppress you.. ‘But one thing they can’t stop you’. You are my Briana. You are the power. You are strong enough. You are my identity of success. Go Briana! Achieve your goals. Better be a dumb and deaf for people’s speech. Go up dear! – By your sweet mom”
This time, Tira’s eyes were filled with tears. But there were no confusions anymore. There was a perfect smile now. Yes! Tiara was back. She was clear now. There are hundreds of women in this world, may be not in the name of Tira, but suffering as a victim for people’s words. Tira is one among them.
The moral which I insist here is,
“Gossiping at people may be our part of Entertaiment but people holding them were suffering of pain day by day. What if the girl once we called “Bitch” is a virgin. What if the girl once we called “Fat” is already on fasting for two days. What if the girl once we called “Mad” is already depressed and lonely.
Everyone is a victim at times for words. Don’t judge others, Because it is not the end of your life. You too have to face much more in this society. One day, the sword which you pointed to others will turn around. At that time, you will realize that it is pointing you and you cannot pay anything return to get back your old esteem. And to all Tiras (all women) in this world, Just be a deaf and dumb when you are criticized by people, either it may be a good or bad criticism. Accept those as it is! You will not be defeated unless you decided to revoke!”

That was a dark evening somewhat brightened with street lights and shops which were opened in that narrow street! Catherine came from a party where she went in the morning. The whole day, she enjoyed a lot there. The party is to celebrate her friend Nancy’s marriage which is going to be held next week. So, this party seemed like bachelor’s party. Every friend of Nancy was invited and Catherine who was Nancy’s college mate too joined there. She was with a black Trendy Empire Waist dress which perfectly suited her structure & crème skin color. Her hair was dark black from the scalp and ended with brownish shade. It was smooth and silky. Her hazel blue eyes can speak more than her words. Yup! Such a powerful eyes which can mesmerize all people to speak to her. With sharp nose and soft pinkish lips, she looked gorgeous. Catherine is so exhausted now because she has no potential to even open her house door. She felt dizzy and somehow managed to open the door after fighting with it for up to 10 minutes. Then she came to her bedroom, lied into the bed, removed her slippers and threw those to the hall where the foot rack was kept. Within a minute, she went into a deep sleep.
The clock shows 9 and a night lamp which was near her bed started blinking. May be it is due to power shortage. When the clock struck 2, Catherine started blabbering some words. But in every sentence, she added, “Okay! I will do it.”Actually, she was in her dreams. She used to blabber some words at this time daily and in the morning, however she tried to recollect she couldn’t. But the thing is, it was the same dream which comes in her mind at the same time daily, from the day she started living in that house.
Catherine, a brave personality, an young aged lawyer who used to deal criminal cases often. She started her career at the age of 23. Now, she is 27. Within this 4years, she has dealt 10 cases. Out of those 10, 7 were criminal cases and she got succeeded in 3 civil cases and 6 criminal cases except the one in which she couldn’t find some evidences for which she is still searching . That was the case about the death of a girl named Iris, who was 16 years old.
The clock struck 6 in the morning. Catherine woke up slowly from the bed and she still felt the dizziness. She moves like a turtle to the hall and opened the door of her house. The newspaper and the milk packet was in the stand which was kept outside. Catherine took both and turned. But something stroke in her mind and she again turned back. There was a post in the post-box. Catherine took it eagerly to know, from whom it came from. But there was no from address. Then she took that too and entered into the home. Due to tiredness, she put that letter and newspaper in the wooden table which was in the hall. After 10 minutes, Catherine came up with a hot cup of coffee. She was with her night dress which was faded, but it was her comfort wear. She had her first sip, then reminded about that letter which had no from address. Catherine put that coffee cup in the table and opened the letter. It was the post-mortem report of Iris. Catherine went through it carefully and she got confused. The report said that Iris had died due to suffocation. But the evidences Catherine collected is proving that it might be a murder. But there were no other fingerprints in the place where Iris has died. That was the reason behind her confusion.
It was one winter Monday. Catherine with her white casual Top and black Palazzo arrived a house in her Jaguar. No one was living in that house except a gardener. It was Iris’s house, a large traditional building with so many pillars and windows, all made with teak wood. There were two entrances for that house. In the main entrance, a painting of an old woman was kept. She was Eliza (Iris’s great grandma), who died at the age of 72. At that time, Iris father didn’t even get married. Eliza was called as the bravest lady of that family, but in the last days of her life, she became mentally sick and blabbered a lot and lost all her consciousness too. She was admitted in the hospital for nearly up to 9 months and finally died on 06th June, 1996 (06-06-96). Actually, Iris too died on the same date in 2016 (06-06-16). The doubt here Catherine got was, is it a coincidence or perfectly planned murder?
Catherine entered into the main hall which is really a bigger one amidst occupied by large pillars, wooden chairs and tables. This hall was holding a lot of memories of Iris’s family. Every function of this family was planned and performed here. From the hall, many rooms were there in every direction. On the way from hall to kitchen, an outer space was there without any terrace. A large wooden swing was placed there. Iris used to play there. Solomon, her dad used to move the swing for Iris whenever she sat there. Now, without even a person, this swing is slightly moving when Catherine went nearby.
“Dad! Sway it fast”, a sound came but no one was there. It was the voice of Iris. (Again, some laughing and playing sounds continues…) Catherine got shocked. She couldn’t even understand what is happening around her! Then she compromised herself by thinking that it was an illusion. But her hands were trembling due to nervousness, her eyes rotated around 360 degree, but no one was there except her. She felt thirsty and went to the kitchen which is near to the swing. The kitchen was so dark with some used and some unused utensils. Catherine searched the vessels for water. There was a white colored ceramic pot in which water is filled. Catherine took the lid and drank the water. “Aww… What is this?” (Catherine was screaming and shouting with fear….) Crunch! Crunch! (The glass got broke down). This is because of the blood stain in the inner side of the lid. She couldn’t identify how it happened? She came out from the kitchen. With scary eyes and trembling hands, she hit against a pillar and fell down. “Aww… Somebody help me!!! Am gonna die… ”, Catherine shouted with tears rolling from her eyes. The Gardener came inside the house on hearing the voice of her. “What happened Madam? Anything serious? ”, the gardener asked. Catherine slowly rose up and didn’t even attempt a word. She ran fast like a cheetah and came out from the house. In the entrance, a dark black cat sat near the gate. “Meow…, Meow…” It seemed like the cat is trying to convey something to her. But Catherine’s fear increased more. She started her Jaguar and disappeared from that place within seconds.
It was 7 in the evening. Catherine entered into her house and switched on the lights. She locked the door and sat on her couch. Her heart beat still didn’t get back to normal speed. She felt more sweat and so she removed her hair clips and tried to dry it using fan. With her long loose hair, pinkish lips, hazel blue eyes and crème color, she went to the mirror. This appearance made her to feel herself as a ghost. She got scared and threw the nearby vase into the mirror. The mirror broke into pieces. She got confused again and lied down in her bed with lots of confusion. “ Okay! I will do it!”(Catherine started blabbering in her dreams again). She couldn’t sleep well.
“Iris! Come, let’s play!” A voice came from Jenny, a new neighbor of Iris. Iris with her cat went to play with Jenny. Jenny was 13 years old. She used to be with Iris. After Jenny’s arrival to that street, Iris’s behavior started to change. Iris, a brave positive and determined girl, started thinking negatively in every aspect. Her boldness changed to fearfulness. Her parents noted her. But Stella, who was Iris’s mother told her husband, “May be, it is because she is growing”. But Solomon continued to watch his daughter’s every movement. He could find out more changes in her day by day. But he never discussed about this to anyone.
Days passed… One fine evening, Iris and Jenny were playing Carrom in Iris’s room. Suddenly, a screaming sound came from that room. On hearing this, Solomon reached the room quickly. “Iris…Iris!!! What happened? Anything Serious?”, Jennie was trying to wake Iris. Solomon took Iris to hospital. Doctors couldn’t find out what happened to her. Iris was admitted in the bed for three days. Then, Solomon discharged her. Iris was taken care by her parents. Within that three days, Jenny’s family moved from that house to another city. Iris’s condition became critical and worst. She used to blabber daily while sleeping. Solomon tried to listen to her words. “Okay! I will do it!”,Iris repeated the same sentence again and again. Solomon and his wife worried a lot. They tried their best to cure her daughter. But there is no improvement.
One night, everyone was sleeping. Solomon heard a screaming sound of Iris. She was trying to breath, but she couldn’t. Solomon entered the room. He could see Jenny who was trying to kill Iris by using the pillow. Jenny was with a white gown and long nails painted dark red in color. Her eyes were in dark hazel blue color. Solomon shouted a lot and tried to protect Iris. But his voice couldn’t be heard and he couldn’t even move an inch. Iris died within seconds after a long fight for her life… Jenny got disappeared and Solomon became normal now. He cried a lot on seeing Iris’s death. Stella came to the room and asked how it happened. But Solomon sobbed and reacted like he didn’t know about anything. “I don’t know. I heard a sound. When I reached here, our daughter had died.” Stella cried a lot and after two days of Iris’s death, Solomon decided to reveal about their daughter’s death to Stella. But whenever he tried to say, something went wrong. At last, Solomon asked Stella to pack everything and they decided to move from that house to some other city. Solomon still didn’t reveal the matter to anyone, because he at least wanted his wife to be alive.
The clock struck 6 in the morning. Catherine woke up from the bed. She tried to recollect yesterday’s events. But she couldn’t remember anything. Then, as usual she went to take the newspaper. Again there was a post. It was the post-mortem report of Iris. Catherine took it and got shocked. Her thoughts were telling her that it was happened before. But she couldn’t recollect anything. Now, Catherine got confused a lot. She couldn’t concentrate in her work. She took bath and went to the court with White shirt, black coat and black bottom (a formal attire of lawyers). She met some clients of her, she couldn’t even approach them positively. In every sentence, negativity played a tremendous role. Then, at 6 in the evening, she came to home in her Jaguar.
The calendar showed the date June 5, 2017. Catherine felt like she had seen this date yesterday. But she couldn’t recollect anything. As she was too tired, she didn’t cook anything for dinner and ordered Chicken Pizza using her mobile phone. Within 10 minutes, the doorbell rang. She opened the door. “Mam! Your Pizza!”, the pizza delivery boy came with the pizza she ordered. Catherine bought it and opened. She started enjoying every piece of the chicken pizza. And it was the last piece, but she couldn’t eat much. She kept that in the table itself and went to the bed. Now, her mind is full of confusion. She couldn’t retrieve her memories. Everything was fading slowly from her brain. And she slept with that confusion.
The next day, the gardener of Iris’s house was reading the newspaper. In the first page, “Catherine, a young aged brave lawyer, died at 2’O clock in the morning today due to suffocation! Police is now investigating about her death. They suspect that it may be due to suffocation”, the gardener read the whole news and the newspaper was dated June 6,2017 (06-06-2017).
Actually, the hidden truth here is…
Catherine didn’t even go to Iris’s house and the whole incident happened on June 5 was her dream, which she couldn’t recollect later. Catherine came from Nancy’s party and slept. Everything happened in the next day was her dream. But everything happened in that dream was true. It was Iris who tried to tell everything to Catherine by using dream as a communicating medium. But Jenny, who killed Iris, already planned to kill Catherine, once Catherine committed to take in charge of this case. So, she made all those incidents appeared in her dream to erase from her memories. Actually, Catherine started becoming Jenny’s slave from the first day she started collecting evidence for this case. That’s why she blabbered daily like Iris. And the words too didn’t change.
Jenny, a girl born in 1966, had many dreams in her life. But her heart was full of negative thoughts which consistently reduced her desires and determination, instead increased her fear each day. She became mentally sick and died at the age of 20 on 06-06-1986. But her soul couldn’t rest in peace. She started to kill the women who were brave and optimistic by creating pessimism and fear into their mind. She wanted to kill them like the way she died. She killed Eliza, her best friend first and then after 20 years, Eliza’s granddaughter and now Catherine. But all were died on 6th June, the day Jenny died…….
Actually, in everyone’s dream, Jenny whispered, “Okay! I will do it on June 6…..”
“Everything occurs for a reason! Think it. But don’t overthink anything, because those thoughts will kill you one day, even if you don’t have any Jenny. Live the life with the flow and accept everything as such. You may have heard, “Think Beyond the limit.” These proverbs can be used in the academics much to improve your skills and talents, but don’t try to apply it to real life. It is like a slow poison, it will kill you one day without the aware of yours. Be optimistic as much as possible and believe, everything happens for a reason. The people you meet, the incidents happened daily, the issues you faced, everything is somewhere connected like networks. Do not ask many questions like how it happens? , why it happens? , by whom it happens?….
However, you tries to change, it happens…. Accept it…. So, once again think a little….not much…”
