Carrot Smoothie for babies

Ingredients

Add carrots in a cooker and pour the water. Now, close the lid and put it in a high flame. Wait for 4 to 5 whistles to get the carrot in a well cooked condition. Now, switch off the stove. Health Mix (Sathu Maavu) for Babies

Hi Folks! Today, I am gonna share the health mix recipe which I have prepared for my little kid. You can start using this health mix after 20 to 30 days of introduction of solid foods. This will help you to know whether your baby is allergic to any particular food and also your babies digestive system should be adapted to different solid foods you give. So, always ensure that these criteria are met before you make this recipe for your baby.

Note

Do not give health mix to babies who are under 6 months of age.

Recipe

This recipe will be very useful to build muscle strength to your baby as it is a protein-enriched food which you can give one or two spoons daily in the initial stage and you can slowly increase the quantity according to your baby’s age and food intake.

Always don’t force your baby to eat more quantity. If you do this, there are chances that your baby might hate that particular food in future.

Ingredients

Ingredients
  • Red rice – 8 tbsp
  • Moong dhal with skin – 4tbsp
  • Moong dhal without skin – 4tbsp

Procedure

Wash each ingredient separately once and make them dry either using fan or using sunlight. Wait until the components do not have water in it. You can use tissue papers to make the drying process quicker. Now, take a pan and heat it for seconds. Then, low the flame and add each ingredients separately. Once you felt some little crispy sound while sauting the item or when you see color change in some items, you can pour it to some plate to cool the component before you grind.

Remember!

Don’t add oil or water into the pan for frying any ingredient

Likewise, do the same process for all the ingredients. Remember, don’t fry the items for a longer time as it will reduce the nutrition present in the cereals. Also, it will give the health mix a bitter taste when you over fry the ingredients.

Once you pan fried all the ingredients, mix them and cool it completely. Now, you can grind the mixture either in batches using mixie or you can grind it with the help of a mill if you have higher quantity. I used mixie and it came out well.

Sieve the powder using a strainer to get the coarse and soft particles separately. Now, grind the coarse particles and do the same process again.

That’s it. Your health mix is ready. You can store this in an air tight container and use it for more than 2 months with room temperature and 3 to 6 months if you keep safely in a refrigerator.

On the other hand, finely chop the onion and tomato. Now, heat oil in a kadai (frying pan) and add the chopped onion into it. Make sure the vessel is in a high flame while doing it. Now, saute for 2 minutes and simmer the stove. Once the onion slightly turns golden color, add the tomatoes into it. Now, saute for a minute and wait until your tomatoes get mushy. Once you see the oil separates, you can turn off the flame.

Now, let the mixture cool and grind it into a soft paste without any lumps in it. Now it is ready to serve. If you want to add breastmilk into the paste to make it liquified, you can add some.

Remember!

Ensure that you do not add salt in food as babies under one year of age do not need salt if you are frequently feeding them with breast milk or formula milk. We will discuss on this topic little much deeper on another day.

Starting solids for Baby Weaning!

Being a new mother who has started weaning for baby, I always think and research a lot about the food and its health benefits.

Often, many questions raise into my mind whether I am giving him protein enriched food which is very significant at this growing stage. Also, I doubted myself many a time whether I am giving him the best in everything either from my caring or from the food I feed him.

With these n number of questions, I came to a conclusion that no one is best in the world and the word “Best”cannot be measured by comparing one with other. Instead, it can be obtained by continuous practice and the consistency which we maintain in the long run. Hence, I will give “my best” to my child who is wholeheartedly trusting me blindly without any knowledge about my decisions. And that’s why I should give my time more to that munchkin who needs that pampering now.

To test myself, I am gonna post the recipes for babies who completed 6 months old and started solids. This will be helpful for me to try different recipes daily cautiously as I become a lazy goose sometimes. Also, I believe these recipes will be useful for new mommies like me who want to try some healthy yet different recipes for your little ones. Pour your likes and comments if you wanna support.

Once I say Garlic, many might relate it to Covid – 19, as garlic played a major role as a immune booster. On the other hand, garlic is the one simple food which can help in male fertility. Garlic contains Allicin, which could increase blood flow to your sex organs and this reduces infertile issues. As poor blood flow to your testes are the main causes for infertility, garlic can curb it.

Vitamin C

Citrus fruits are enriched with Vitamin C. Orange and lemon are well-known citrus fruits. Nutritionist recommend Vitamin C as it can help absorbing more iron to the body and also Vitamin C aids in brain development. If you take oranges regularly in your diet, it can improve the overall health of your sperm

The more you drink water, the more your sperm can swim easier. If you do not drink enough water your body requires, this might increase the thickness of your sperm due to dehydration. This could affect your sperm motility.
